Ask anyone who has lived in Inspirada for more than a couple of years what the neighborhood is missing, and the answer comes fast: somewhere else to buy groceries besides Albertsons, and something to do on a Tuesday night that isn't a park loop. That complaint has been fair for a long time. It just stopped being permanent. Not eventually. Not someday, when the master plan finally catches up to the housing. On a set of specific dates, most of them already in the rearview mirror or a few weeks out, in 2026.
That's the part worth sitting with. Inspirada's retail gap has been discussed for years as a known trade-off, the price of getting into a well-designed, park-heavy master plan early. What changed this year isn't the diagnosis. It's that three separate, independently scheduled projects are landing in the same twelve-month window, and a fourth long-running daily-life friction point, trailhead access to Sloan Canyon, is scheduled to resolve on almost the same timeline. If you've been operating on the old mental map of this place, it's worth an update before the fall calendar fills back in.
The corner that's actually filling in
Sansone Companies held a ceremonial groundbreaking on February 26, 2026, for Centurion, a 24-acre mixed-use development at the intersection of Via Centro and Via Inspirada. The company bought the land for roughly $15.1 million back in June 2020, and the Henderson City Council approved the project plans in 2024, so this isn't a rendering waiting for financing. Site work is underway now.
The plan calls for 78,756 square feet of retail and 600 apartment units, and the retail portion includes a Sprouts grocery store targeted for a late 2026 opening. Miles Sansone, the company's head of development and finance, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal the group is starting with the retail complex and expects to finish construction on it by the end of the year. He was also direct about why Centurion exists at all: Inspirada is dense with rooftops, but retail services in the area have been "kind of lacking."
That's not a knock on the neighborhood. It's an honest description of a master plan that built housing faster than it built the businesses to support it, which is a common enough pattern in fast-growing Henderson corridors. What makes this year different is that the fix now has a name, an address, and a contractor on site. A second real supermarket within the community, after years of a single Albertsons carrying that load, is the single biggest change to Inspirada's everyday convenience since the neighborhood opened.
The restaurant list nobody's been updating
While Centurion has been the headline project, the smaller, less centralized version of the same story has been happening for a while along Via Inspirada, and it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention to Yelp's running tally.
A few years ago, dining options directly associated with the neighborhood numbered in the single digits, closer to two than ten. That's changed. The current list of restaurants near Via Inspirada includes Rustic House, Lexie's Bistro, Eureka! Henderson, Block 9 Thai Street Eats, WSKY Bar + Grill, Distill - Inspirada, Mama Bird, Grill Nine, and Sumo Henderson. None of that makes Inspirada a dining destination in the way the Arts District or Water Street are. It does mean the honest answer to "where do you eat around here" has quietly gone from a short list to a real one.
The newest addition arrived with more fanfare than a restaurant usually gets. A McDonald's at 2455 Via Inspirada opened its doors quietly on August 13, 2026, held a ribbon-cutting on September 9, and threw a public grand opening party with a full year of free Big Macs or Happy Meals on offer to 100 lucky guests. The location employs about 80 people and is run by Team Vance Management, a franchise group that now operates eight McDonald's locations across Southern Nevada. It's a fast-food opening, not a culinary milestone, but it's also a useful marker: national chains don't commit real estate to a corridor until the rooftop count justifies it, and Inspirada's rooftop count has clearly crossed that line.
The dates worth actually marking

- Fall 2026 — The West Henderson Fieldhouse, a $70 million, eight-court sports complex with 4,000-person capacity, opens a short drive from the neighborhood, changing the calculus for families with kids in club sports who've been driving across the valley for tournaments.
Longer term and moving more slowly, Station Casinos has an approved plan for a 63.2-acre resort at the northwest corner of Via Inspirada and Bicentennial Parkway, with a casino floor, sportsbook, bowling alley, movie theater, and food hall in its first phase. That project is real, but it's not imminent. Casino executives have said construction won't wrap until around 2029, so it belongs in the "worth knowing about" category rather than the "check the calendar this month" one.
The trailhead that's been quietly rerouted
There's a second thread here that has nothing to do with retail, and it's one longtime residents have felt more than read about. Inspirada sits at the edge of Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, 48,428 acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management, home to the Petroglyph Canyon Trail's roughly 300 rock art panels and 1,700 individual petroglyphs. It's one of the neighborhood's actual advantages, walkable or a short drive from most of Inspirada's sub-communities.
Since late 2024, the parking area and access road at Nawghaw Poa Road have been closed for construction of a new, permanent visitor contact station, replacing the trailer that served hikers for years. Closure notices point to a return around November 1, 2026, with hikers currently rerouted to a wide shoulder parking area on Democracy Drive and a walk-in approach to the trailhead. Friends of Sloan Canyon, the nonprofit that supports the site, has been posting updated directions for the workaround in the meantime.
Put plainly: if you gave up on the petroglyph trail sometime in the last two years because the directions stopped matching reality, the wait is close to over. That's a small thing next to a grocery store opening, but it's the kind of detail that only shows up if you're actually tracking the neighborhood day to day, not reading a five-year-old amenities list.
What this changes for a Tuesday night
None of this turns Inspirada into somewhere it wasn't. It's still a park-first, trail-adjacent, quiet master plan in southern Henderson, and that's by design. Inspirada opened its seventh and final park, Sentiero, in November 2025, closing out an 85-acre system that was always the neighborhood's clearest selling point.
What's different is the errand list. A second grocery store within the community removes a drive that's been part of daily life since the first homes closed. A restaurant count that's gone from two to ten means a weeknight dinner decision doesn't automatically mean getting on Via Inspirada and driving somewhere else. And a reopened trailhead means one of the neighborhood's best free amenities stops requiring a workaround to use.
